Glimmer of Life Pet Rescue

Please adopt before you shop! Just one adoption makes room for one more dog that may be put down in a high-kill shelter. For more information on adopting a homeless pet in the South Florida area, please call 954-985-8848.

Glimmer of Life needs your help!

We recently took in 23 dogs who are in desperate need of loving homes, and we need your help! We have small dogs up for adoption, and we are also accepting donations and volunteers at this time. Any little bit of help we can get will make a difference - even if it just means stopping by to share some love and socialize with the babies, who are clearly well overdue for some love and affection!

For information, please call 954-985-8848. Adoption interviews will be held Wednesday - Friday from 12pm to 4pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.

Meet Kingston. This adorable little Shih Tzu is in need of a loving home. He is estimated to be about 2 years old, and was brought into our shop to be groomed after his owner had left him in the care of someone else for over a month. He was dirty and matted, and the knots over his eyes were so thick that he couldn't see. After removing the hair from over his eyes, we found that his left eye was so infected that it was bleeding and oozing, and was extremely painful for him. After meeting with his owner, we explained the level of care that Kingston was in need of, and the owner agreed to surrender the dog to us. A visit to our vet confirmed that Kingston's eye had been infected for so long, that his cornea had been damaged beyond repair, and his eye would have to be removed. We got him the surgery he needed, and we also got him neutered, and now he is in our care while he recovers. He's feeling much better and now he runs and plays and walks around the store like he owns it! He will be available for adoption shortly, so if you or someone you know is interested in adopting, Kingston would make a great companion! Please contact Karen at 954-563-3838.

We are a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization that rescues and shelters abandoned, abused, and neglected pets to rehabilitate them and find them new homes.
